After that, make a reservation they get super busy. And they sell hundreds of Peking Ducks a night. I mean, it's truly an amazing place.
And on the walls they've got pictures of George Bush Jnr and George Bush Snr, cause they're both their favorite restaurants navigate to this website . In The District though, if you want to know what some of my favorites are, number one is Potbelly Sandwich. Potbelly Sandwich is kind of a fast food sandwich chain. But all the sandwiches are toasted, really delicious. It didn't start in DC, it started in Chicago I believe. But they have a ton of locations in DC. Their sandwiches are really good. My second favorite is this place called Moby Dick, House of Kebab. And Moby Dick, House of Kebab it is a middle-eastern kebab place that serves kind of like beef, lamb, chicken that are cooked on skewers. There's delicious rice. I don't know how they make the chicken, beef and lamb so tender and juicy, but they do it really good. Their location in DC is right around DuPont Circle. That's another place I hit up almost every time I come, actually I think I'm going to hit that up right after this video. So they'll probably be a picture here of me, not me eating it, but my plate of food at Moby Dick, House of Kebab. My third favorite, this place called Ben's Chili Bowl. It's on U Street. It is a African American institution in Washington DC. There were a bunch of riots here and it was like one of the few places that wasn't burned down. Cause it's African American owned. And they have what they call these Chili Half Smokes. They are a cross between a hot dog and a spicy sausage. They put chili on top. Probably not really good for you. But it is really delicious. And then if you want to know what my favorite sit down place is in DC, it's Legal Sea Foods. It's a Boston chain, but they've been serving their clam chowder to the White House for a lot of their inaugurations and things like that. And their location in The District is right in Chinatown. I should finally mention, also another neighborhood great for food is the Georgetown neighborhood. The Metro doesn't really go there easily. But Georgetown is a cool place to check out, lots of restaurants there for the evening. Alright, the last thing to know, the tenth thing to know about DC, is DC it's more than just the National Mall. There's so many people that I've talked to, that when they've come to DC, this place right here that you see is the only place they came to. They came to the Mall, they checked out the museums, and they didn't see all the stuff that DC has to offer in that direction. So when you come to DC, cause you'll have watched my video, you'll make sure to venture north off the mall to see the real DC. The place where people actually live, or people actually work. It's a pretty cool city, and I already said visit Georgetown. Visit the Penn Quarter. Visit Adams Morgan if you like bars. That's a great nightlife area. If you don't like bars then skip Adams Morgan cause it can be slightly sketchy from maybe all the alcohol. If you like zoo's, Washington DC has the National Zoo up on the Red Line. Check out the Smithsonian Zoo. It's pretty cool. There's pandas up there. I mentioned U Street. That's a trendy kind of area. Up and coming, with Ben's Chili Bowl. And some of the things I like to do when I'm in DC is I just like to get the subway map, the Metro map and from wherever I am, just kind of walk along one of the Metro lines. One of my favorite lines to walk along is the Red Line. Starting from Chinatown, and walking up towards the Smithsonian Zoo. And if you're walking along where the Metro is, well when you get tired all you have to do, just get on the Metro and ride back. Alright, well that's it. I hope you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching. If this was your first time here I hope you subscribe. Click on this little yellow ball right here to subscribe for new, fun, informative videos every week. Or you can click here or here to watch some of my other travel videos. Alright, thanks. Bye, bye. You get a cheaper room rate, you don't have to pay as much for parking. It's kind of a win win all together. One of my favorites in Crystal City is the Crystal Gateway Marriott. And I've got a video review of that. You can find a link to it in the description below as well. If you're staying in The District and you like the high end hotels, my favorites are the Park Hyatt, Washington DC. One of my favorite Park Hyatts. And my second favorite is the Mayflower Hotel. Which is Marriott affiliated as a Renaissance. That one really close to DuPont Circle. So that's a pretty neat area to stay.
So if you want to know what the best area of DC to stay for a tourist is, I think DuPont Circle's pretty cool because there's a lot of restaurants and things like that around there. There are hotels just to the south of the Smithsonians and the Mall but sometimes those hotels, they're really designed for Government business so they're close to Government office buildings, and really far from anything else, like food or 24 hour drug stores, et cetera, et cetera. So try to stay on the north side of the National Mall if you are staying in The District. There's just more liveliness and tourist amenities in that direction. Alright, the ninth thing to know about DC is about food. I always have this subject in all of my Things to Know videos, and of course we're going to talk about it for DC. So what do you need to know about food in The District. Well, this place that I'm standing which is where most tourists go, The National Mall, has almost zero food. There's maybe some hot dog trucks and some food trucks that show up. The Air and Space Museum has a Mcdonalds. Actually if you are looking for food, I think one of the best things to eat on the National Mall, it's in the National Museum of the Native American. They have a pretty good cafeteria that has a lot of Native American eats. But the other good places, so that's a little expensive because that's in a Smithsonian, there are places that are a little bit cheaper just to the south of the National Mall, there's a place called L'Enfant Plaza. It's a big Metro stop. There's a lot of good lunch options there. Another great place for lunch options is Union Station, just to the side of the Capitol Building. There's a huge food court in Union Station. If you're looking for dinner type things the area around Chinatown is pretty good. DuPont Circle as well. But I will say if you're looking for Chinese food, avoid Chinatown. The Chinese food in Chinatown it is not good. I like to consider myself a connoisseur of Chinese food and when I first came to DC and I didn't know any better I ate at those Chinese restaurants. They're not good. Don't eat there. If you are looking for really good Chinese food though, and you're staying in Virginia, or you have a car, so you can head out there, there's a place in Falls Church called the Peking Gourmet Inn. It is George Bush's favorite Chines restaurant and they specialize in Peking Duck. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is the best Peking Duck I have had in the United States of America. It is really that good. And I like to head out there on most trips that I'm out here in Washington DC. Provided I'm out here with at least somebody else. If I'm by myself then I seem like a huge glutton eating a Peking Duck all to myself. If you're getting there for dinner, five or six you'll be good, just walk it in. That's pretty neat and sometimes they'll have tickets for those available the day of, often if you come later in the afternoon. You'll have to go.
There's some ticket desks inside the Capitol Building. You just show up and say, "Hey, do you have a ticket?" And if they do they'll hand you one and you can go up and sit in to a session. Alright, the seventh thing to know about coming to Washington DC is about the time to visit. And, you know, Washington DC is famous for having some pretty bad weather. It gets a pretty bad wrap. In the summer particular, it can get really hot and humid in DC. In the winter it can snow. The best times to visit DC is April and October. I'm shooting this in October. You might not think this is the best weather, but actually this kind of weather here. It's breezy, it's about 70 degrees fahrenheit. So not too hot, not too cold. The humidity always makes it feel warmer here. So October is a good shoulder season month, hotels are fairly inexpensive. But the best time to visit, March or April for Cherry Blossom season. And yes, it can be busy, but the Cherry Blossoms are truly amazing and a sight to behold. You will be here with everybody else and their mother, so it'll be busy and packed. But the Cherry Blossoms truly amazing. Definitely don't miss that. But one of my favorite times to come to DC is actually in the winter. That time when it's cold, like December and January, there will be no crowds at all. There's like nobody because who wants to come to a place that's super cold. But DC actually isn't super cold. And if you're spending your time in all these buildings. The Capitol Building, the Smithsonian. You're not actually spending all that much time outside. And so the fact that it's cold doesn't matter all that much. And you can get hotels that, maybe like the Park Hyatt in Washington DC that often go for $500 a night in January are like $200 a night. So you can get some pretty good hotels for pretty cheap in the winter, winter, winter. Alright, the eighth thing to know about Washington DC, it's about hotels. I was just talking about those. So what do you want to know about hotels? Well the hotels, they can be really expensive in The District and so can parking. Good hotels often run an average of $200 to $300 a night. A lot of the people who come to DC obviously come here for the Government. The Government publishes this thing called the Government rate and that's often where the rooms start and kind of go up from there in price. If you are looking for some cheaper type accommodations, don't stay in The District. Stay in Virginia, either in Arlington. It's the city that right borders DC. Or Alexandria just to the south of Arlington. There can be some more inexpensive hotels there that are pretty close to the Metro. You can just hop on the subway, head into DC. And that question revolves around the fact that over the past day or so, Ripple has made a really, really nice move. I mean, when you consider where the price was at these low points, and then you consider where it is right now, and I just say that where that is right now, because the markets are open 24/7. So I can't say the price closed there, but that's currently where it is, point here being that any rational person is gonna say yeah, Ripple has definitely made a very nice bounce. Now this leads to the valid question, therefore of, but is there any sort of true power behind this bounce?
Is there any sort of genuine strength, or is this just some sort of knee-jerk reaction dead cat bounce? I have no idea, but like I said, by using charts, we can make answering that question very straightforward. And in my mind, it all revolves around the level down here, which is support and I don't quite know the value yet, what is that? 78 cents, why, or yeah, 78, why is 78 cents so important? Well hopefully, we can all agree on the logic that price movements with true power, with genuine strength, the price is gonna progress forward. The price is not gonna go back to where it was bonuses nz. I'm assuming you're saying, hey thanks captain obvious. Of course a price movement with true power is not gonna go back to where it was. That would be a contradiction, exactly. So with that mind, think about 78 cents. Any sort of closes blow it, or worse yet, if the price separates to the downside, what would that be doing to the price? That would literally be putting the price right back inside of this range of the chart that it just broke out of. Again, going back, not a sign of true strength. Whereas let's say the price pulls back, so over the weekend pulls back and then does something like this, and then starts to work its way back upwards. What would you have in this situation? Well, you'd have a set of lows right here, you would have this previous set right there. If you picture each one of those as stair steps, well hey, now you have stair steps progressing in the upwards direction, and that's the name of the game. That's what a truly strong move is gonna do, it's gonna make progress forward, and in this situation, I am defining, quote unquote make progress as 78 cents. Now what about areas of resistance? So if this upwards move is going to continue, where some of these key battlegrounds at. As it stands right now, the main level of resistance, let's get that changed to red for resistance, and I almost put it right where it needed to be. But right up here, give or take around the 96-cent mark, you can see several occasions over the past that prices have been up around this area. You go back here through the history of the chart, knock down the price there, knocked it down, knocked it down, so you get the idea. But really in my opinion, top priority right now is not breaking levels of resistance, top priority is over the weekend, going through health consolidation and beginning to build higher bases, because as long as higher bases start to be built, then that's how this overall bounce can pick up that much more steam and maybe even potentially turn into a reversal, but one step at a time, that first step is staying up above 78 cents. Welcome to my desktop, and here is the chart that should look very familiar. This is what it was looking like as I did that video, which you just got done watching. And I want to really reiterate the point of this is not to try to come across or make you think that technical analysis, the use of charts, is some holy grail that's perfect all the time, that it's some sort of secret sauce in the market, there are nothing like that, it's a tool that can be used, but it is not a holy grail, they are not perfect. Hey Clay, I want to get into crypto-trading, I want to get into cryptocurrency investing. I know you're all about technical analysis, but does technical analysis actually work with the cryptocurrency market? Let's talk about it. That's actually a super-good question, and a very popular one that I've been getting as cryptocurrencies continue to fill the headlines, and who knows, maybe a couple of years from the time I do this video, someone will go, what are you talking about cryptocurrencies, but I think they're here to stay. In what form, I don't know.
But let's get to the question here, and the question is, do charts work? So let's just talk about technical analysis, the use of charts. What actually is a chart? A chart boiled down to its simplest kind of common dominator is two things. You have down here, volume, meaning is there a market for it? Are people exchanging something? Something, I'm not saying stock, I'm not saying options, just something. Well let's run that test real quick. Are people exchanging something in the cryptocurrency market? Well yeah, they're exchanging currency, cryptocurrencies. So yeah, alright, check. The other big part of charting is over here, price. Or you could look at this as value. So again, let's run it through the test. Does that something that they're exchanging have a value, have a price associated with it? Well, in the cryptocurrency market, of course it does. I mean, a market by definition is gonna have prices and values. So once again, yeah, the crypto market not only has people exchanging something, but that something also has a price and value. So yeah, absolutely, absolutely charts can be used in the world of cryptocurrency. And I realize this is just theory on a whiteboard, and that's a totally fair point, so what I'm gonna do is take you to my desktop, and before I get to my desktop, I want you to watch a video chart analysis that I did on Ripple, one of the many cryptocurrencies out there. And these video charts, if you're not familiar, I do them on a daily basis, and I just talk about the basics, but the basics even in charts can be very, very powerful. I really harp on it in the video on my desktop, but I just want to get it across right now too, I'm not sitting here saying that charting is the secret sauce, that charting is the holy grail for cryptocurrency, and it turn you into a millionaire. I'm not saying that at all. Are they a very useful tool? Yes, 100% they are a useful tool. Are they always perfect, do they always work? No, of course, not but there is no such thing as a perfect system in the market. Like I said, I do reiterate that as I get onto the screen, but I want you to first, like I said, watch this video that I've done beforehand, and then I'm gonna take you to my desktop and walk you through what happened afterwords, and you're gonna see that, not only do technical analysis, not only do charts work with the crypto market, but they can actually work very well. So let's get to that video, and then I'll see you on my desktop. And sitting between these candlesticks here representing one day's worth of price action, which is what you would normally see, each one represents 30 minutes worth of time. So while this here may look like several day's worth of time, it's actually just today's price action broken down into 30-minute time slices. I look to this timeframe kind of does a good job of telling the quote unquote story of a price, and in this situation makes mapping out a very logical question quite straightforward. To pay for your bills. Otherwise, you're trying to speculate. See, the most dangerous thing is this: If you go into something, and you're speculating, and you think to yourself, "This is a business."... It's not a fucking business. At best, at best, it's speculation. To me...
Some people might disagree with me. I know I'm gonna get comment from YouTube, on social media, about, "Oh no, let me explain to you about cryptocurrency, let me explain to you about blah, blah, blah, blah. Let me explain to you, it's not what you think." Fuck you guys, I don't give a fuck. I'm just saying, I don't agree, and it's not what I invest in. I'm so pissed off, because I have people, quite a lot of people, using my name. Set up fake Facebook group, fake Facebook profile, fake Instagram profile, fake stock tip profile, using my name. Using my picture, pretending to be Dan Lok, telling people to buy certain stock. Telling people to buy certain cryptocurrency. Telling people, basically, scamming people, using my name. I don't approve of that, I don't appreciate that. So, if you see anything like that? If you're my fan, don't believe in that. You see anyone recommending a stock tip, cryptocurrency, or bitcoin, or forex trading. Whatever it is... 100% percent, it is not me. So, if you want to follow me, follow me on the proper social media channel. Which, I have my links on all my sites, on my YouTube description. Those are the official social media accounts that I have. Anything outside of that? They're fake, they are not real. People using my name, because they know how much exposure I have. And that's what pisses me off. Not only they are telling people to invest in certain things, they are basically using my brand to deceive people. That is just fucking wrong. And my legal team is constantly, we're shutting that down every damn-- Before, it was every month. Now, it's almost every day we gotta shut these things down. That's how crazy it gets. So, the most dangerous thing you can do is, going into speculation, thinking it's gonna be an investment. It is like, the other day. Jenny and I, we were in Vegas. And I never gamble. I don't gamble. You've read my book, you know I don't like gambling. But we got some time to kill. And I thought, you know what? Why don't we just, sitting in front of this Monopoly, kind of a slot machine. So, cool! Let's just play some games. So, we put in like $100 bucks, or whatever. We play, and we actually, from $100.00 bucks, within like, 30 minutes, we were up $300.00, $400.00 dollars. This is cool, this is fun, right? And then, afterwards, we keep playing, and went from $400.00 - $300.00 - $200.00, and then we lost all. We lost $100.00 bucks, right? It is very foolish to think, oh, you know what? Is that an investment? Or, am I trying to make a living, playing the Monopoly slot machine? Or, am I trying to get rich with that? That's how stupid it is, when it comes to you thinking about forex trading, or cryptocurrency. That thinking of, you know what? I'm gonna make a business out of that. It's as if you're saying, I'm gonna play the slot machine, and hopefully that will make me rich. No. It's not even speculation. To me, it's a game. It's like, I lose $100.00 bucks, it's no big deal. It's a fun thing. It's just entertainment. I'm not counting on that to make money. You shouldn't count on that to make money. The only thing you count on make money, is you. See, real estate doesn't make me money. The stock market doesn't make me money. Business doesn't make me money. I make me money. Those investments work because I work. Your investment would work only if you work. The only thing, the only person to count on to make you money, to make you successful? It is you. So, comment below. Don't follow those advice. They are not good for you. Learn to think independently. And, until next time, I'll see you in my Bentley. A lot of discussion has been had regarding the early history of saga, with a particular focus on the era, starting with David Rosen. While I could easily focus an entire series on the history of Sega, starting with Rosen and the people who followed in leadership roles, I chose a different path that is seldom if ever discussed when looking at Sega's early history. With that, let's get going.
This is retro impressions, and this is part 2 of the series, Sega systems and physical game formats. Irving Bromberg was born June 10th, 1899 to Russian immigrants Fannie and Joseph Bromberg in New York State Five days after turning nineteen Irving married Jeannette Blumenthal, who was one year? His junior, During this time he held employment as a salesman of glassware. One year later, in 1919, their first child Martin was born From 1923 until 1930 Irving served as president of the Greenpoint motor car Corp, leaving that position to start the Irving Bromberg company after becoming involved in the distribution of coin op games in New York City Oncasinogames. His new company would focus on manufacturing, repair and distribution of coin op, slot and entertainment machines for play by the general public. Two of the games that helped establish the company were bingo and a game that was a spin-off of bingo called baffle ball. These two games are generally considered to be the start of the coin. Op gaming boom and eventually the pinball industry as a whole. Irving Bromberg was key to starting the new coin op industry and these games were key to his early success, establishing him as a distribution force in the north eastern United States. In addition, he was able to acquire distribution rights to the largest manufacturers, including games by Bally. The growth was rapid, with the irving Bromberg corp became one of the best-known and largest coin op distributors on the East Coast, Irving sold his New York location in 1933 to the Supreme vending company and moved his family to Los Angeles, in an effort to establish a Presence on the west coast, while creating standard games to act as a new distribution arm for his company. While it has been said, the Irving's son Martin worked in the business since age 12. He officially moved Hawaii in 1940 to further the family business ``. My dad was in Hawaii when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. He ran the slot machines on the bases when they bombed Pearl Harbor. There was a note on one of the slot machines that said “ In case of another attack jump under this machine. It ’ s. Never been hit yet ” During this time a new branch called standard games. Hawaii was established under the leadership of Martin. The company was sold in 1945 and later that year, Irving Romberg his son, who had changed his name to Martin Bromley in 1943 for angelic reasons. Along with their family friend, James Humpert founded a new company that would again focus on coin ops, slot and entertainment machines. Only this time they would market exclusively to US military facilities. The name of this new business would take influence from the servicemen they were marketing to, along with the products they were pushing. It would be called service games or Sega. For short, Business was good until a new federal statute called the Johnson Act passed in 1951 required. The removal of these machines from military bases within the United States and its territories, There was a small caveat. However, military bases on foreign soil would not be affected by this law outright. As the decision on whether to allow or ban these games was left to the discretion of the overseeing commander, As foreign military bases were still fair game and these bases were buying, these games for their servicemen to play. Arrangements were made to refocus their target market In 1952. Bromley sent Richard Stewart, along with Raymond Lemaire to Japan, for the purpose of selling, distributing and servicing slot machines, pinball machines, jukeboxes and other coin-operated devices. On behalf of service games By 1953, they were fully operational under the branch name Service Games, Japan and business quickly, expanded to Korea, the Philippine Islands, Guam Europe and the United Kingdom. In the meantime, the corporate headquarters was moved to Panama, with Irving Bromberg James Humpert, Martin Bromley, Raymond Lemaire and Richard Stewart being equal shareholders at 20 %. Each Humpert would sell his interest only two years later and the name would be changed from service games. Panama to Club Specialty Overseas by 1959. Business was booming. However, it was all smooth sailing as the company faced accusations, tax evasion and fraud from the United States government, while Japanese custom officials are looking into charges of smuggling and evasion of import duties on December 9th a major blow was received when service Games and it's subsidiaries Were informed, they would no longer be accepted as eligible contractors to supply coin-op games to naval bases located in Japan and the Philippines. This team, partially from a dispute as the authority, was obtained to ship their games via naval vessel bottom s, something the Navy felt very strongly had never been authorized. Service games was dissolved in 1960 and restructured into two new companies automatic for distribution in Sega for manufacturing. Just months later, they would absorb the assets of the previously dissolved service games, Japan. This was, in my opinion, due to two factors. Let's see that I'm not showing you I don't know if I did What's up, my beautiful mar mars and welcome back before I start this video make sure you hit that Bell icon Smash that Bell icon! Today we're doing the hundred and fifty dollar lottery scratcher challenge This cost $6000 Oh my gosh. Wait, okay. This is more like it. Look at this large ****.
